For those of you who are familiar with the coutryside surrounding Beechwood Park School and the village of Flamstead it will come as no surprise that we believe this to be some of the best running to be had in Herts, Beds and Bucks.

For those of you who aren't so familiar please take a look at some of the photographs in our Gallery for a taste of what you can expect from your run. We start out at the front of the School with fantastic countryside views. Heading towards the village of Flamstead you have a long flat straight to get you wamed up, but don't get complacent, at the end of the straight is a steep climb up Valley Lane; at this point the route climbs sharply, muscles straining you will enter the village of Flamstead and take a turn around the Recreation Ground before heading back out along Friendless Lane on your way back to Beechwood Park. Before you sprint for the finish you will have some more steady climbs and, of course, the amazing views!

THE RACE

The Flamstead 10K is organised and run by the Flamstead Pool & Play Club. The Club is based at the Flamstead Village School utilising the small pool on the site to provide swimming lessons and holiday activities to children from the local community. Please take a look at our photos page to see some of the recent improvements made to the pool.

Our vision is to deliver an annual 10k, 5k and 1k running event around some of the most beautiful countryside in Hertfordshire. Funds raised will help us provide a retractable roof for the pool and support ongoing maintenance, allowing this invaluable resource to be used all year round rather than just the summer months.
